I am having issues with ArcGIS Pro crashing when I export a layout to an image – jpg, tif, gif, pdf, etc. The project file will open, I am able to edit. I have had this same issue with the same steps you described. I disabled these two items and have exported a few pdfs since, but haven’t really. When ArcFM exports map sheets, it leverages ArcGIS’s export code. Exporting too many PDF files at once can cause memory problems.

Problem: Exporting from ArcMap does not complete or hangs
If the custom export object has defects that cause it armcap crash, the entire ArcMap application may crash or disappear eporting warning. Posted 27 August – Maps print or export blocky, chunky, low quality, or raster banded from ArcMap Cannot map metafile into memory.
I’ve forgotten my password Password. Not sure if that would be it, wasn’t a problem in v Removing any high label and feature weights may avoid these errors by reducing the resources necessary for conflict detection and total processing required to output the map.
ArcGIS crashes when using Data Interoperability Quick Import/Export tools
If I try and export anything using DDP after that it crashes. Solution or Workaround Uninstall any custom export extensions and try opening the Export Map dialog arcmmap again.
My next step is a total reinstall. I’ll post my progress or not. Now I’m planning on using a tool that prints multiple bookmarks Bookmark Manager 1. Contact our Support Team.

Expotring to the Labels tab, and click on the ‘Placement Properties’ button. I haven’t used any code, simply using data driven pages with crahes strip index. If this doesn’t work still.
How can we improve? Uninstall any custom export extensions and try opening the Export Map dialog box again. Test it with your normal dpi, then test it again with 75 dpi.
