I did enjoy the chemistry between the MC’s but I found I was more frustrated with how they just didn’t clear things up with a simple conversation. Learn how your comment data is processed. At first Ivan thinks his Captain chose him for this particular assignment because the suspect is go, as is Ivan, but that is not the case. To avoid disappointment, the genres considered for review are: His affection is unprofessional, but Parker is irresistible.


As a former “fat kid”, I can so relate to Parker’s being taken advantage of by his so-called best friend. Beyond that, I wished we had seen a little more of Ivan and Parker after they reconciled.

Not nearly as good as the first in the series. Off-balance and without backup, Ivan finds himself playing a .kc.burn divorce and becoming Parker Wakefield’s roommate. Ivan Bekker literally still has the blood on his hands from a bust gone bad that landed his fellow cop and friend, Kurt, in the hospital fighting for his life when his Captain sends him undercover.

Ivan is an emotional wreck from the violent ending of his last case. Parker and Ivan are a good couple, and while the undercover aspect of Ivan’s work required him to lie and be evasive, there still was the stumbling block of failure to communicate about the most basic issues. I also loved that his sleep apnea made him very self-conscious. Having once been the chubby friend myself and then losing some weight, I know what it’s like to be totally clueless when someone finds you attractive.

But I love his voice, it’s like honey, just so sweet and smooth. Ivan had to kill a man, and his friend was shot and is now fighting for his life.

Parker still sees himself as a fat kid who does not have a chance at a relationship I wanted to give this book more stars because I loved Parker so very upp, but I could not.
